    Interview With NCRI's Alireza Jafarzadeh

CD Media sat down with Alireza Jafarzadeh from the National Council of Resistance In Iran this week to discuss recent developments regarding the Islamic nation of Iran and its facilitation of terror abroad.

Alireza Jafarzadeh is the head of the organization's Washington, D.C. office.

When asked about his thoughts regarding the recent events in Albania, where Iranian intelligence agents were expelled attempting to harm members of the Iranian Resistance located outside of Tirana, he did not equivocate.

"The American Department of Justice just released a statement where Members of the MOIS, the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence, pleaded guilty to spying against Iranian dissidents inside the United States.

"Why would the regime [in Tehran] go so far as to send agents from Iran to the U.S. where they actively recruited agents on U.S. soil and were attempting to carry out capture and kill operations inside the country?

"This is a unique situation. In the past, the regime was very careful on American soil. When you couple this development with what the regime is doing in Europe, where five Iranian diplomats have been expelled by European nations for plotting terror on European soil, it is a very clear sign that the regime is vulnerable domestically and is afraid of the organized opposition, which includes the NCRI, and the MEK.

"The Mujahideen has a very strong network of support and is conducting massive [resistance] operations inside Iran. The regime feels they need to deliver a blow to the movement in a physical way, and eliminate it. Given the fact that the regime is still facing this resistance in a major way after all the repression is has delivered against our people, the regime feels even more vulnerable. The Mullahs will continue the same type of plots, espionage, and terror on Western soil.

"Albania has released information on the two terrorists just expelled form the country.

"All of this requires a much bigger and strong vigilance by Western governments to identify the regime's network and operatives who work under different covers. On was operating under the cover of a waitress [at a restaurant frequented by diplomats]. They are installed at think tanks, media companies, act as journalists and activists. They provide information for the regime's nefarious purposes. Not enough is being done in the US, EU to identify this network. They have been relatively free to operate for the last 40 years, and have never paid a price for their involvement in terror. On the contrary, the regime uses terror as a tool for negotiations.

"In Iraq, people are standing up to Iranian influence. In Lebanon, the people are standing up to Iran's support for Hezbollah.

"It is time for Washington to realize the regime is not ten feet tall, but weak and vulnerable. They are acting out of weakness and now is the time to step up the pressure."

As the situation with Iran progresses, CD Media will be reporting on evolving events.
