On Sunday, Israeli fighter jets launched yet another attack on Syria, this time focused on a number of targets in Homs. The attack was launched from Lebanese airspace, according to the Syrian state news agency SANA.

Five Syrian Arab Army (SAA) soldiers were wounded in the strike. "At around 00:35 a.m. on Sunday, the Israeli enemy carried out an aerial act of aggression from the direction of northeastern Beirut, targeting some sites in teh city of Homs and its countryside... Our air defenses intercepted the missiles and shot some of them down, and the aggression resulted in the injury of five army personnel and some material damages," a Syrian military source said.

In another report from Persian media, an Iranian advisor who was injured in an Israeli attack on Damascus on Friday succumbed to his injuries after the attack. "Meqdad Mehghani was wounded during the Zionist attack on Friday dawn and was martyred," Iran's Mehr news agency reported Sunday.

Monday's attack is the sixth Israeli attack on Syria since an earthquake devastated the country on February 6 and the ninth attack on Syria since January. Monday's airstrike was also Israel's third strike on Syria in only 4 days.

The recent barrage of Israeli attacks began in the early hours of March 30 when Syrian air defenses were activated to intercept missile attacks on Damascus. The next day, March 31, the Syrian capital came under Israeli attack again, killing Iranian military advisor and officer Milad Heydari. In response to that attack, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has vowed to retaliate.

Under international law, Israel's continued airstrikes on Syria are illegal; however, they happen frequently under the guise of targeting Irani and Hezbollah targets. More often than not, however, the attacks actually target the SAA.

The Syrian Defense Ministry released a statement condemning Friday's strikes on Damascus and calling the attacks "barbaric". The statement accused Israel of coordinating with extremist militants to carry out the attacks. In the past, Israel has played a significant role in the Syrian conflict and has directly provided support to extremist groups in the area.

What could possibly be left of Syria? I thought it was already pretty much rubble?
