Iran’s eschatological theocracy cannot accept the existence of a non-Muslim entity in the heart of the Middle East and such in close proximity to the cradle of Islam on the Arabian Peninsula. Israel’s commitment to never again relinquishing the historical Jewish homeland to foreign control is equally unshakable. A new report by the Institute for National Security (INSS) suggests that this may make a full scale war between the two countries, a war that Israel cannot afford to fight on its own minuscule territory, inevitable. Hence, Israel must be prepared to invade (again) Lebanon and even Iran itself. Read more about this report in the Jerusalem Post.
