El-Al continues to stretch its legs using the newly acquired fleet of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners

Israeli media is reporting today that the profits posted by Israeli airline plunged 30% in the third quarter as compared to the previous quarter ($42M to $27M), leading to a 19% drop in share price.
Profit and share price drops notwithstanding, El-Al announced plans to evaluate the feasibility of direct flights Tel-Aviv Melbourne in the second quarter of 2020, subject to regulatory approval. The flights from Israel to Australia are expected to last 16 hours and 45 minutes, while the return flights will be an hour longer at 17 hours and 45 minutes. Both will be the longest direct flights ever attempted by the airline and will utilize the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
