Multiple targets hit, several casualties reported in one of the largest Israeli strikes within Syria in recent months
Several casualties, including (according to Syrian media) one baby were recorded tonight in one of the bigger rounds of attacks from Israel on Syrian and allied targets in recent months. The attacks were centered around Damascus and Homs and included Syrian, Hezbollah, and Iranian installations.
At least ten such targets were struck by Israeli airplanes and warships, including an R&D center (according to both government and independent news sources in Syria). Twenty-one wounded and four dead were reported by the Syrian media, which showed the casualties as they were brought to Damascus area hospitals. Large fires and secondary explosions due to direct hits on ammunition dumps were heard in both Damascus and Homs, leading to breaking windows and other damage to civilian infrastructure.
Israeli government has not so far addressed the attacks and no independent reporting is currently available from Israeli media.
