Lt. Colonel Vindman’s ridiculous array of medals and military insignia reminds us just how far America’s military has fallen
When I served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in the early 1980s, the height of cool for us was to go on leave wearing our combat or “work” uniforms also called the “B” uniforms and the dirtier the better. These uniforms were comfortable and on them we had no insignia other than rank insignia made out of cloth. No brass, no siver, no gold, no red backgrounds for combat service, not shoulder tags for the units we served in. The hats were floppy olive canvas with no insignia whatsoever.
Sure, we were as vain as the next guy, but our vanity expressed itself in things like the weapons we carried and how we carried them and how they were rigged for combat with the magazine and the spare and the strap and the foregrip. The problem was that it was against regulations to leave base wearing the B uniform without a note from the commanding officer and these notes were impossible to get. So we often risked being written up by the military police who stalked bus stations and popular eateries and losing our next leave privileges just to avoid wearing the hated “A” or dress uniform with its unit insignia and other baubles hanging off of our arms and shoulders and chests and stuck to the front of those hated berets.
Speaking of berets, the Chief of Staff in my day, Lt. Gen. Rafael Eitan, himself a legendary hero of the 1973 Yom Kippur war decided to order that while on leave outside of base all Israeli soldiers and officers had to actually wear their berets on their heads rather than, as we all did, folded under our left shoulder straps. This order nearly led to an open mutiny and the military police were swamped with writing tickets to soldiers who refused to follow it to the point where it soon had to go away with nary a whisper.
When Douglas MacArthur, a five-star general, received the unconditional surrender of the Japanese Empire on board the battleship Missouri, he did so without a coat or tie, wearing not a single piece of insignia beyond his rank. When Lt. Col. Vindman testified before Congress on a matter that had nothing to do with his military service, he wore so many military insignia that he could easily put to shame any Soviet or North Korean officer or equivalent rank.
The moral of this story is simple: a nation’s vigor, morality, and military prowess is inversely proportional to the weight of the insignia worn by its military officers. When there is no more room to pin as much as a penny to their chests, we can be sure that our freedoms are gone, that we live under a totalitarian regime, and that the military brass does not work for us the people, but precisely and specifically against us. This is the point at which America finds itself today.
The greatest mistake that patriots can make, the Achilles heel of nationalists, is our penchant for giving the military and various law enforcement and intelligence agencies deference that they long since have stopped deserving. Just as a fish rots from its head, so a nation loses its soul and its freedom starting with its armed forces, its intelligence services, and its law enforcement apparatus. This is true and has always been true as is well documented by historical examples from the Roman Empire to the Soviet Union. America is no different. Not only are the American security services including all branches of the military excluded from America’s descent into deep state totalitarianism, they are at the spearhead of this descent.
The caveat that this analysis pertains only to the brass and not the rank and file is both largely false and completely irrelevant. It is largely false because America does not have the draft and all of its security apparatus, both internally and externally oriented is staffed by volunteers. The people that join these services, be it a local police force or the Marine Corps get promoted by others who have already been infected by the globalist rot and since this rot is now close to four decades old, there can be little succor in trying to make distinctions between top and mid-level officers. Low-level officers and enlisted personnel substantially follow orders, simple orders that do not leave much room to exercise judgment except in the most egregious of circumstances.
American patriots, American nationalists, must retain their allegiance to the concept of the armed forces, the intelligence services, and the law enforcement agencies, but we must also become fully aware that these agencies as they are now instituted are led and in the most part staffed by people who serve the globalist agenda, an agenda that is at complete odds with America’s national interests. The automatic assumption that the American military is on “our” side, i.e. on the side of American nationalism is evidently, demonstrably, false to say nothing of the intelligence services and both the local and the federal law enforcement agencies.
As we are watching the saga of Seal Chief Gallagher unfold with its rank subordination by the highest military and civilian leadership, we must finally understand that America’s return to its founding principles of limited government, individual freedoms, and high moral character will not be accomplished with the help of its security apparatus, but rather with and in spite of its active resistance. Winning the battle for the soul of America depends on this. Open your eyes and see.

The Oath of Office is the common denominator. Any officer or enlisted, all sworn law enforcement, and all elected officials swear an oath to the Constitution of the United States. Violation of the oath is cause for dismissal.
If only our officials were held to their oath and dismissed at their first violation of it we could clean things up pronto. But the legal process won’t go for it because the Supreme Court is perhaps the worst offender.
It’s gonna take a restoration/revolution.
not enough toilet paper in America to wipe off the obama “legacy”
“…on the side of American nationalism is evidently, demonstrably, false to say nothing of the intelligence services and both the local and the federal law enforcement agencies.” Local law enforcement in Broward County, Florida is mostly composed of thugs and lazy criminals put there by the corrupt dems, so, yeah, I agree.
It started well before him.
before “GOD” kicked mankind out of the garden … “HE” warned us what our true history would be with out “HIM” at the helm … we are just reaping what we have sown all these years , all of mankind … this is nothing compared to what will happen on this planet in the coming years … true righteous judgement is awaiting all of us … may “HE” have mercy on mankind as “HE” exacts “HIS” righteous judgement on “HIS” creation … we have earned the ” ass-kicking we have coming …….
I didn’t have anything to do with getting kicked out the ‘garden’. If you weren’t a socialist you would realize that group punishment is not Christian…individuals answer for their own sins, not group sins.
Jesus himself is proof that God forgives if you believe in him. Get a clue and stop preaching poison.
The Christian Church has been ravaged by the lie that we have ‘collective salvation’, rather than individual salvation. This eliminates individual responsibility and lies at the core of a twisted interpretation of the Bible. It is Communism applied to Christianity, two diametrically opposing worldviews.
There is nothing ‘just’ about ‘social justice’. It is absolute tyranny under color of law. Fight back!
“…infected by the globalist rot and since this rot is now close to four decades old,…”
That would put it at 1979 but just look at Vietnam that started in the 50’s and then go back to Korea. What wars have we won since WWII?
I would agree with nearly all his points with the exception of how junior military officers and enlisted fell about what is happening in our country. Field grade officers and vulnerable company grade officers are selected out and carefully groomed to be compliant politicians rather than soldiers. Junior and middle grade enlisted undergo the same scrutiny and selection. BUT, and this is an important but, the majority of this occurs in the combat service support troops. Many but not all go thru what the combat arms folks would consider a diluted form of basic training that ill prepares them to be soldiers in the traditional sense. The services are even developing different PT standards for three levels of the Army (combat, combat support and combat service support). The military is also opening up some of the combat arms to women. I don’t propse that all women are incapable of serving in the combat arms. One need only look at the Israeli Army and the women if the Kurdish resistance to see that, if held to the same standards, can operate quite well in the combat environment.
Thank you very much for your comment.
