When Israel is in the news, it is too often because of its ongoing conflict with parts of the Arab and Muslim worlds and its amazing achievements in science and technology and not nearly often enough because of its no less impressive achievements in the arts. This is something that both Israeli artists and Israeli government are eager to change.

Starting this Monday, March 11, 2019, a group of 43 Israeli artists working in a wide variety of plastic media will be exhibiting their work in the prestigious Espacio Gallery in London’s trendy Shoreditch art district. In the words of exhibition curator and artistic director Mr. Rami Azzam, the exhibition is designed to demonstrate that art, more than any other medium, “connects people and knits them more closely together to bring out the human artist within us, regardless of gender, race and faith.” The exhibition is co-curated by Mr. Azzam of Israel and Mr. Carlos De Lins of the UK.
