Often life amazes with the ornate destinies of talented people. It is to this type of people that Dr. Berliner belongs.

He was an actuary that became a composer and it wasn’t just a hobby. His music was played all over the world in so many countries including the United States, Poland, Austria, France, Bulgaria, Moldova, Turkey and many more. In 2016 he had an exciting concert in Kiev, Ukraine, dedicated to the 75 years anniversary of the Babi-yar massacre. A documentary film was made as a result of this journey and concert which is yet to be released. Dr Berliner has written several Symphonic poems and has held dozens of concerts, only some of which were canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and now because of the tragic war in Ukraine.

Baruch Berliner was born in Tel Aviv in 1942 and moved to Berlin with his parents at the age of 13. After his return to Israel in 1990 he worked as a senior research fellow at Tel Aviv University until 2007. In recent years, Baruch Berliner has been working closely with producer and musician Nachum Slutzker.

Surely a unique composer, Dr. Berliner unites the oldest of the arts of music with the oldest of monotheistic religions -Judaism, because his works are based on Torah verses. His concert concept is that at each of the shows and in each country the local announcer reads the Torah verses in the local language. The worldwide deployment of Berliner concerts is possible thanks to the fact that the Torah has been translated into some 700 languages.
