Netanyahu Meets Oman’s Foreign Minister In Warsaw

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu is now attending a conference on the Iranian problem in Warsaw and it was just disclosed that he had met there with Oman’s foreign minister Yusuf Bin Alawi. The meeting follows Netanyahu’s historic visit to Oman earlier this year and was held in secret in Netanyahu’s hotel room to which the Omani foreign minister had arrived via a back entrance in the hotel parking lot.

In the meeting Netanyahu thanked the foreign minister and told him that the “courageous decision” by Omani Sultan Qabus to meet him in Oman “brought about a change in the world” and that “many countries will follow” in the footsteps of Oman. The foreign minister replied that the Omani policy towards Israel is “a new and important vision for the Middle East” and that it will “bring prosperity and peace to the long-suffering peoples of the region”.

Netanyahu has tweeted out a picture of the Omani minister and himself exchanging a handshake and expressed the revealed that the they discussed the further strengthening of relations between Israel and the Gulf Sultanate of Oman.
