With the media-enabled push to promote the Biden President-elect narrative, unfortunately the world is reacting to this possibility. The Israeli government summoned the Russian ambassador this week to protest comments made in the local Israeli press regarding the need to change Israeli negotiations tactics with the Palestinians under a Biden presidency.
Russian Ambassador to Israel Anatoly Viktorov gave an interview to the Jerusalem Post, which sparked a diplomatic scandal and forced the embassy to provide an explanation. In his interview, the ambassador harshly criticized Israel. “The problem in the region is not Iranian activities,” Viktorov told the Jerusalem Post. “It’s a lack of understanding between countries and noncompliance with UN resolutions in the Israel-Arab and Israel-Palestinian conflict,” reported Russian state news agency TASS.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry summoned Viktorov to receive an explanation of his statements. The Russian Embassy in Israel stated that “this is the case when media representatives add their own connotations to the interview.” However, the article shows that Viktorov did say some harsh statements.
The Iranian-enabled push to extend Islamic extremist power in the Middle East is real; Russia is an ally of the mullahs, hence the Russian ambassador’s comments.
A Biden presidency does not only mean chaos and destruction in America, the rest of the world will experience horrific consequences as well.
Israel has worked to foster a good relationship with the Kremlin since Russian intervention in Syria years ago. Vladimir Putin also fears the Israeli military and would like to supplant the U.S as an Israeli ally. However, the elephant in the geopolitical room is Iran, which wants hegemony in the Middle East. Putin cannot play both sides forever and eventually will have to choose.
