“Egypt is seriously violating the peace agreement and is building offensive military sites in Sinai. Israel will deal with this soon,” said Ambassador Yechiel Leiter to the U.S.
Egypt has denied any violations, saying the bases being constructed are defensive only.
Meanwhile reports from the region say although Israel is withdrawing from Southern Lebanon, they are keeping 5 strategic positions. This is the second Lebanese war in several decades and the IDF likely wants to prevent Hezbollah from reoccupying the Israeli border from Lebanon.
The IDF continues to hit targets in Southern Syria, and Lebanon.
The Israel Defense Forces has pulled out of southern Lebanese villages but remains in five key positions, a Lebanese security source said Tuesday morning, around an hour before the deadline for the withdrawal expired under the ceasefire deal with Hezbollah, reported The Times of Israel.
“The Israeli army has withdrawn from all border villages except for five points, while the Lebanese army is gradually deploying due to the presence of explosives in some areas and damage to the roads,” the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told AFP.
