Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared this morning the IDF will enter Rafah and destroy the remaining Hamas combat battalions stationed there.
This comes after pressure by other members of the Israeli war government who have threatened to dissolve the ruling coalition if Netanyahu does not accept the Biden administration’s ceasefire and hostage release agreement.
Netanyahu’s comments are below:
*Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Heroism and Hope Forum Representatives: “We will enter Rafah and we will eliminate the Hamas battalions there – with or without a deal.”*
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, today (Tuesday, 30 April 2024), at the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem, met with representatives of hostages’ families and bereaved families from the Heroism forum and the Hope forum.
Prime Minister Netanyahu [translated from Hebrew]:
“The idea that we will halt the war before achieving all of its goals is out of the question. We will enter Rafah and we will eliminate the Hamas battalions there – with or without a deal, in order to achieve the total victory.”
The Prime Minister listened to their call to continue achieving the goals of the war and to withstand the international pressure.
