A drone launched from Yemen broke through Israeli air defenses today and struck the civilian airport in the city of Ramon in southern Israel.
The strike is sure to force a violent response from the Israeli Defense Force. The IDF has been targeting the capital of Yemen for weeks in an attempt to prevent this type of development.
Israel has closed airspace over Ramon Airport in southern Israel, Israeli Airport Authority says, reports The Times of Israel.
The announcement comes after an explosive drone launched by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis impacted at the airport, lightly injuring two people.
