Several European capitals have recognized the State of Palestine — the UK, France, and Portugal, and Canada, Australia.

Israeli nationalist leaders are now pushing for annexation of the West Bank in response.

“We doubled Jewish settlement in the West Bank — and we will continue on this path.”

“The response to the latest attempt to impose on us a terror state in the heart of our land will be given after my return from the United States. Wait for it,” declared Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. “A Palestinian state will not be established west of the Jordan.”

“The unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state by Britain, Australia, and Canada is a diplomatic disaster; it is a harmful step and a reward for terrorism,. A functioning Israeli government could have prevented this,” said Israeli opposition Leader Yair Lapid.

“The only answer is sovereignty over the homeland regions of the Jewish people in Judea and Samaria, and removing the folly of the Palestinian state idea from the agenda forever,” declared Israel’s Minister of Finance Smotrich.

“The recognition by Britain, Canada, and of a “Palestinian” state, as a reward for the ukhba murderers, demands immediate countermeasures: the immediate application of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria and the complete crushing of the “Palestinian” terror authority.

“It is my intention to submit a proposal for the application of sovereignty to the upcoming government meeting, said said Israeli National Security Minister Ben-Gvir.

UK PM Starmer — “Today, to revive the hope of peace for the Palestinians and Israelis, and a two state solution, the United Kingdom formally recognises the State of Palestine.”

The recognition of the State of Palestine is an important step in affirming the right of our people to their land and establishing their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, said French President Macron. He demanded the release of hostages in Gaza to open an embassy in Palestine.

“Israel’s security strategy against Hamas has failed. They killed all the key leaders. This is a success. But at the beginning of this war, you had more or less 25,000 Hamas fighters. The Israeli army killed probably half, but Hamas managed to recruit the equivalent” added Macron.

“You have as many fighters as at the very beginning, which is the best evidence that if we want to dismantle Hamas, the total war is not the answer because it’s just killing the credibility of Israel.”

In other news, Egypt has massed armored forces on the Sinai border with Gaza, as Cairo worries about Israel pushing Palestinians into its territory. Netanyahu asked the US to pressure Egypt over a military build-up in Sinai, claiming it violates the 1979 peace treaty.

Israel says Egypt expanded air bases, built underground facilities, and increased troops near Gaza without explanation, reports Axios.

Tensions are rising as Egypt fears Israel might push Gaza’s population into Sinai, while Israel accuses Egypt of blocking refugees.

Direct talks failed, prompting Israel to seek US help, but Egypt denies any violations.

Netanyahu is considering annexing parts of the West Bank in retaliation to the recognition of Palestine by Western nations, but wants to get a “green light” from the US.

Trump plans a Tuesday summit in New York with Arab and Muslim leaders to discuss ending the Gaza war and a post-war plan.

Israeli Defense Minister Katz declared — “We’re not leaving [Mount] Hermon.”
