President Trump today in the Oval Office declared he would not allow Israel to annex the West Bank, a Palestinian territory between Jordan and The Jewish State.
“I will not allow Israel to annex the West Bank. No, I will not allow, not going to happen. It’s been enough, it’s time to stop now,” Trump commented to reporters when asked about the subject.
Israel nationalist politicians Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich have been pushing for annexation of the area for years, and have recently increased their efforts on the back of European and other nations recognizing a Palestinian state.
Israel’s Minister of Finance Smotrich — “The only answer is sovereignty over the homeland regions of the Jewish people in Judea and Samaria, and removing the folly of the Palestinian state idea from the agenda forever.”
