An indictment was recorded today against a 16-year old Jewish boy from nearby the Samaria community of Rehelim. According to the indictment, on October 12th, 2018, the boy positioned himself with others on a hill overlooking a busy highway and threw a rock weighing around two kilograms (4.4 lbs) at a moving vehicle containing an Arab family with the purpose of hurting the passengers in the car for reasons of “ethnic animus towards all Arabs”. As a result of his actions, Aisha Rabi, a mother of nine who was traveling in the vehicle with her spouse and their nine-year old daughter was killed when the large rock, thrown “deliberately and with force” at the windshield of the approaching vehicle as it was traveling at 100 KPH (65 MPH), penetrated the windshield and impacted Mrs. Rabi’s head. Mrs. Rabi’s husband, who was driving, managed to maintain control of the vehicle and drive to the nearest hospital where doctors recorded his wife’s death. The indictment, supported according to various Israeli sources by DNA evidence collected form the rock that killed Mrs. Rabi, further maintains that the defendant acted “with purpose to harm the Arab family having first ascertained that the car in question had Palestinian Authority license plates and with reckless disregard for the lives of the passengers in the car”.
