After former comments emerged denigrating President Trump from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent pick to head the Israeli internal security service, the Shin Bet, Eli Sharvit, the nomination has been pulled.
The chaos surrounding the Qatargate scandal being engineered in Israel by forces against the Netanyahu government is publicly unfolding for all to see.
U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham was especially angry over the selection of Sharvit.
The change of course comes at a critical time as Shin Bet is investigating the Netanyahu cabinet over links to Qatar, which reportedly funds Hamas, which attacked Israel on October 7th of 2023.
The move also follows backlash from members of his religious-right coalition, who opposed Sharvit’s reported appearance at a 2023 anti-judicial overhaul protest, reported local press.
