MOSES’ TABLETS? 1200 B.C. ARTIFACT IS THE OLDEST EXAMPLE OF YWH’S NAME TO HAVE BEEN INSCRIBED!
It was called a “Curse Tablet” a sinner would have written to himself. He meant to literally send himself to Hell, unless he found a way out to repent at the altar – and his repentance was acceptable to G-d. The theory: you can repent all you want, but Jesus could not have saved the Hebrew’s souls 1200 years before he was born. More importantly, the money changers working at the FED on the Temple Mount, minted inflated shekels.
Curse tablet customs are heard in the prayers during the Jewish high holiday Yom Kippur, among others, in the confessions of sin.
There’s universality in two Abrahamic religions comparative religions examines – excepting Islam, which hasn’t to the best of my knowledge practiced remorse and contrition – to connect these two sentiments to repentance, to end hopefully in love: the physical, and the rebirth, cleansing G-d’s love provides.
In the sequence the Hebraic confessions of sins are followed by the latest fashion of Leonard Cohen’s music that cross religious traditions and barriers – one can argue, in a unification of glorifying The Creator?

“Modern“ Judaism sums it up for all of humanity:
“Back in 1824, Rabbi Gotthold Salomon of Hamburg gave a sermon in which he said, “All of us feel, to one extent or other, that, in spirit and soul, we belong to a higher order than the ephemeral. We feel that we are human in the most noble sense of the word, that we are closely connected to (AVENU) the Father of all existence, and that we could have no higher purpose than to show ourselves worthy of this relationship.”
Pre-Davidian kingdom practices were an arguably kinder take on the Christian Khlysty cult’s self-flagellation, dismemberment, and castration rites – a Christian “curse tablet” worship and others similar? The Christian cult was born from an extremist puritan Russian sect, “…for all its prohibitions, the core of the Khlysts’ religious practice was about a conscious pursuit of ecstasy.“ Also of course, pain, abstinence, deception, and self-deprivation. One might suggest that Rasputin may have been an early advocate of the cult’s narratives from which he may have earned his fame.
As it were, one’s release from a curse that sends one to Hell might, presumably, feel pretty darn ecstatic.
Announced to be the most important archeological find in recent times, the 2 cm X 4 cm amulet tablet was found at Mount Ebal in Israel. It dates the pre-temple era.
“It proves that the text was in existence very early, in what we would call the Late Bronze II period” from about 1400 B.C. to 1200 B.C., said Scott Stripling, director of excavations for Lancaster County-based Associates for Biblical Research and director of the Archaeological Studies Institute at The Bible Seminary in Katy, Texas.
Translated into English, the early Hebrew text reads:
CURSED, CURSED, – CURSED BY THE G-D YWH.
YOU WILL DIE CURSED!
CURSED YOU WILL SURELY DIE.
CURSED BY YWH – CURSED, CURSED, CURSED!
The report continued: “The significance of the tablet’s writing, according to Stripling, which he described as the earliest-known “morphing of hieroglyphs into phonic representations” —(is) ancient Hebrew…
“When people have argued that Moses could not have written the Pentateuch” — the first five books of the Old Testament, which Jews call the Torah — “because there was no alphabetic script with which to do that, we now know that that’s just simply not accurate.”
The two tablets of Moses written in text or a mix of text/hieroglyph gave the world the MORAL CODE which proscribes limits on personal behavior, and later, constitutionally, government’s authority and powers.
The moral of this tale? Do not trespass norms, do not abuse others. And then you don’t have to curse the gods, or repent, for G-d will not help you anyway, unless you help by “maning Up” – bettering yourselves.
