Silence Is Not Always Golden

Where does the American Jewish community stand on the “squad” the four horsewomen of the apocalypse who are leading the charge for anti-Semitism in America?

Editor’s note: below is another excellent offering from Mike Siegel. Mike’s piece clearly shows how liberal American Jews, in rejecting Israel, are supporting an environment in which Jew hatred can grow and flourish and how they are forgetting the lessons of history simply to promote their own political agenda.

Few would debate the premise that Tlaib, Omar, Ocasio-Cortez and Pressley are virulent and ruthless in their anti-Semitic and anti-Israel taunts, taunts that are as frequent as they are outrageous.

Ocasio-Cortez calls Israel “criminal,” Tlaib and Omar are congenial with Linda Sarsour, the ultimate Jew and Israel hater, and Pressley goes along with this toxic sickness.

Having made that case from their own words and actions, where is the Jewish community to be found? Why did Jewish members of Congress allow the sanitizing of a resolution that condemned hate instead of condemning the anti-Semitism coming from the mouths and hearts of these women?

We know where these women stand. That will not change. The fact that the Anti-Defamation League, for example, loudly condemned the President for his comments about Baltimore as being racist is absurd since he never mentioned race. In fact, his statements told the truth about Baltimore and its condition under Democrat rule for decades.

Yet, that same organization seems quiet and only mildly concerned about these women and their hate toward Jews. Have there been any statements from large Jewish organizations condemning these women’s statements.

In fact, a Georg Soros-backed organization, Bend The Arc: Jewish Action, came out in support of Tlaib and Omar in their virulent anti-Israel and anti-Jewish comments. Soros, of course, worked with Nazi officials as a teenager in Hungary and never regretted doing so as he himself stated on 60 Minutes. Betraying his own Jewish people was apparently fine with him.

“Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it” is the oft-repeated statement from writer and philosopher George Santayana. It applies here to the Jewish apathetic attitude toward anti-Semitism in the United States today and the climate after World War I in Germany. Many Jews scoffed at the idea that if Hitler gained power, he would carry out what he wrote in Mein Kampf. Jews were comfortable in Germany and did not envision what the reality of a holocaust could be.

The reality suddenly hit the German Jewish community with one single event on one terrifying night.

Kristallnacht or the Night of Broken Glass, also called the November Pogrom, was a pogrom against Jews carried out by SA paramilitary forces and civilians throughout Nazi Germany on 9–10 November 1938.

Suddenly, the existence of a demonic movement to carry out a holocaust against the Jewish people became real. Unfortunately, for six million Jews it was already too late.

This is not to suggest that a similar horrific movement is likely or even possible today. But it is to suggest that the same lethargic attitude that existed in the Jewish community in Germany then exists in the American Jewish community today.

We know that more than 50% of hate acts in America are carried out against Jews. We know that Jewish members of Congress could not stand tall and demand a condemnation of anti-Semitism as expressed by Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib, Omar and Pressley. We know that Jewish organizations have had a tepid response to their expressions against Jews and Israel. Ironically, it is the evangelical Christian community and President Donald Trump who stand tall with Jews and Israel.

Congressman Steve King was condemned for his comments viewed as racist by the House. The House Minority Leader removed him from his committee assignments. If that series of outrageous and divisive remarks by Congressman Steve King led to his sanction, then where is Nancy Pelosi who alleges to be a friend of the Jewish community and Israel on the hate coming from members of her Democrat caucus?

It is not to be found. The truth is that Pelosi has defended these women. It is now clear that the line has been drawn and that the Jewish people and Israel stand in isolation from many who find it politically correct to condemn Israel when that nation’s very existence is threatened by Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran.

Is this “Truth, Justice, and the American Way?”
