The Israeli Air Force is thought to have used an F-35 to strike a residential building in Dahiyeh, a Shia southern suburb of Beirut, killing the second in command of the Iranian proxy army Hezbollah Ibrahim Aqil, who was also the commander of their special operations force.
It is reported Aqil was killed along with at least 11 other people during the airstrike.
Aqil was the ringleader of the bombging of the U.S. embassy in Beirut in the 1980s and had a $7M bounty on his head.
