The Israeli military conducted airstrikes across multiple areas of Lebanon on Friday, targeting what it said was a training compound used by Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force along with weapons depots and military infrastructure.
The strikes hit targets in northern Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley near the town of Hermel, roughly 87 miles from the Israeli border, as well as sites in the Nabatiyeh and Jezzine districts in the south, according to the Israel Defense Forces and Lebanon’s National News Agency.
The IDF said the Radwan Force compound was used for training operatives, conducting live-fire drills and planning attacks against Israeli forces and civilians.
“The targets that were struck and the military training conducted by Hezbollah constitute a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon and pose a threat to the State of Israel,” the military said in a statement.
